Job Description

Overview

Our client’s aviation academy is seeking a skilled Aircraft Mechanic to join their maintenance team. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in ensuring the safety, reliability, and peak performance of the aircraft fleet. You’ll work closely with flight operations, upholding the academy’s strong commitment to excellence in aviation training and operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair worn or defective aircraft components
  • Modify and alter assemblies in accordance with FAA regulations
  • Rigorously follow approved maintenance procedures and reference FAA-approved technical data
  • Conduct detailed inspections to confirm repairs meet quality and regulatory standards
  • Perform functional and serviceability tests using specialized equipment
  • Complete and submit all necessary documentation for inspection
  • Track and report time, materials, and tools used during maintenance tasks

Qualifications

  • Current FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license
  • High school diploma or equivalent; aircraft maintenance training preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience working on general aviation aircraft
  • Own a complete set of required tools
  • Strong communication, organizational, and troubleshooting skills
  • Solid understanding of FAA maintenance standards and procedures
  • Experience with SLSA and Diamond aircraft is a plus
  • Additional compensation available for candidates with an IA certification
