JOB DESCRIPTION - Analytical Chemist (4696)

Location: Houston, TX

Position Summary:

The Analytical Chemist will assist the lab supervisors/chemists by performing routine and non-routine laboratory analysis/wet chemistry on product and in-process samples, to support plant operations for the purpose of quality assurance and control. Utilize analytical instruments to address quality assurance and control issues.

Essential Functions:

• Performing routine and non-routine laboratory analysis/wet chemistry
• Flexibility for changing role as needed.
• Perform calibration and maintenance of test equipment.
• Conduct calibration and maintenance of analytical testing equipment
• Prepare samples and ensure accurate data generation and records, in accordance with the standard operating procedures.
• Prepare chemical stock solutions and reagents, as well as set preparation standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or related field
• 2-5 years' experience with analytical laboratory experience preferred

Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to communicate effectively written and orally
• Basic understanding of GC systems
• Must be able to work in a team environment
• Must have strong computer skills
• Must be able to obtain TWIC card

• Type of Assignment: Temp to perm

Shift Schedule:

DuPont Schedule 12 hr. shifts
