Our client located in Sugarland, TX has an immediate need for an Automotive Mechanical Engineer this is a direct hire opportunity. This is a 9/80 work schedule, every other Friday off.

Automotive Mechanical Engineer Role:
Automotive Mechanical Engineer will take on a multifaceted role that blends product innovation with ongoing refinement of existing designs.
From concept to completion, you'll play a critical role in shaping the future of our cutting-edge mechanical systems.
Design and refine critical mechanical systems, including hydraulics, mobile machinery frames, powertrains, HVAC, and cooling systems.
Utilize advanced engineering tools for modeling, testing, and validating new and existing designs.
Develop, prototype, and test structural, thermal, pneumatic, and hydraulic components for high-performance equipment.
Solve complex engineering challenges by identifying issues, proposing alternatives, and implementing solutions in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Create and manage detailed technical documentation, including specifications, engineering BOMs, and cost analyses.
Drive innovation by researching and integrating emerging technologies and supply chain optimizations.
Conduct hands-on testing of prototypes and production vehicles to validate performance.
Partner with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless product development and sustainment.
Manage engineering projects, including documentation, reporting, and process improvements.
Occasionally travel to engineering and production sites for on-site assessments.
Automotive Mechanical Engineer Background Profile:
Bachelors degree in Engineering.
5+ years of experience in mechanical design
5 years of field experience as an engineer, technician, or technical support with seismic vibrators is highly preferred
Or diesel engine design, mobile vehicle hydraulics design, construction or agricultural equipment design
Other preferred comparable skills are product design and support experience with heavy industrial mobile equipment in the construction, mining, agriculture, forestry, military or seismic industries Strong proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk AutoCAD, and engineering analysis tools such as Ansys, Nastran, or Simcenter Amesim.
Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and hydraulic schematics.
Solid technical documentation skills and familiarity with engineering change processes.
Strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present ideas effectively to diverse audiences.
Primarily office-based, with some hands-on work in manufacturing and testing environments.
Occasional travel to external facilities for evaluations and collaboration.
