Job Description:

• We are looking for a highly motivated and energetic person to join our growing Engineering team as a Backend Software Engineer specializing in Django.

• The role requires a willingness to explore new areas outside of one's comfort zone, while also working to constantly pursue best-in-class practices to improve architectural efficiency, stability, and reliability.

What you will do:

• The Backend Software Engineer will report to our Head of Technology.
• Responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable database models.
• Preparing RESTful services.
• Integrating with 3rd party services.
• Defining unit tests & testing automation.
• Creating technical documentation.
• Working with a team of front-end developers to maintain and advance the core platform.
• Responsible for monitoring and supporting application uptime/downtime support.
• Performance monitoring & tuning.
• Working with dev-ops and their processes & procedures addressing code deployment and site operations.

Role/Skills:

• 5 years' experience, Mid-level person.
• Python
• Django
• Working knowledge of AWS (will not have to stand it up on their own).
• Requires definite working experience with Postgres and Redis databases.
• Also, all the pluses are accurate:
• JavaScript/Typescript (they use Angular).
• Google Cloud Platform.
• Big Query.
• Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, etc.).
• Experience with online/sweeps/social games industry.
• The communication is via Slack and Jira so experience with both is a plus.
• They are a small company with a small team, so looking for people with a chill vibe, but entrepreneurial and flexible.
