ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re looking for a graphic designer to join our in-house creative team. You would be based on-site in our creative headquarters in the vibrant Soho neighborhood reporting to our Director of Brand Creative. This is a key role in the department responsible for upholding and advancing Jonathan Adler’s brand identity, championing consistency and innovation.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
This is an excellent opportunity for a designer who can deliver elevated design solutions from concept to finish, and through production. You have a design degree (or equivalent qualification/work experience), fluency in Mac-based design, and excellent communication skills. You know your way around briefs and style guides, and your work demonstrates a proven ability to interpret creative direction and follow brand guidelines. Your attention to detail is top notch, you can juggle multiple projects on different timelines, and you can collaborate and self-manage in equal measure. You are organized, a multi-tasker, self-motivated, forward-thinking, curious, and passionate about great design.
RESPONSIBILITIES
● Work within our brand guidelines and also exploring specific creative direction on design projects which include: print catalogs and mailers, seasonal campaigns, brand assets, special event items, business development support
● Craft visually compelling designs that drive engaging, inspiring, true-to-brand storytelling
● Create digital Look Books, Email Banners, SMS, etc.
● Work closely with our Director of Brand Creative and liaise with colleagues across teams to see projects through from initial brief to completion
● Research, concepts, mock ups & presentations through to creation of finished work
● Maintain archive and record of projects
EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES
● Excellent layout/composition, typographical and aesthetic coherence
● Excellent knowledge of print production
● Versed in current brand and design trends, as well as the cultural landscape
● Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) expert
● Excellent communication skills (both written and spoken)
● Committed, reliable, motivated, organized, proactive, enthusiastic, resourceful and capable of working well both independently and collaboratively
● Able to work on different and varied projects at one time, often to tight deadlines
● Basic animation/After Effects skills are highly desirable
● Experience with luxury and/or distinctly voiced brands is a significant plus (not required)
