Job Posting: Senior Buyer – Chemical Manufacturing Industry

We are seeking a Senior Buyer to join our client’s team, where you will utilize your industry expertise, strong negotiation skills, and attention to detail to drive procurement strategies and establish mutually beneficial supplier relationships. This role is critical in ensuring the timely, cost-effective delivery of materials while maintaining quality standards and optimizing supply chain efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Source and procure materials for chemical and petrochemical manufacturing operations, ensuring adherence to quality, cost, and delivery requirements. Responsible for MRO and Raw Materials.
• Develop and execute strategic procurement plans that align with organizational goals and production schedules.
• Lead contract negotiations with new and existing suppliers to achieve the most favorable terms in pricing, delivery schedules, and service quality.
• Conduct thorough reviews of supplier contracts to assess compliance with terms and identify areas for improvement or renegotiation.
• Analyze market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities while mitigating supply chain risks.
• Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of procurement activities, including purchase orders, supplier contracts, and performance reports.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, production, and finance teams to forecast material needs and synchronize purchasing activities.
• Create and implement continuous improvement strategies to streamline procurement workflows and enhance operational efficiency.
• Maintenance and Service contracts

Requirements:

• Non-disclosure agreements, Hold Harmless Agreements, Liability Insurance
• ISO Supplier Documentation
• 5+ years of experience as a Buyer, Procurement Specialist, or similar role within the chemical or petrochemical manufacturing industries .
• Proven expertise in contract negotiation and review , including the ability to achieve competitive pricing and favorable terms.
• Strong negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to drive cost reductions without compromising quality or delivery.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and documentation skills with a keen attention to detail .
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders.
• Proficiency in procurement and supply chain management tools/software.
• Deep understanding of raw materials, supply chain constraints, and industry trends specific to chemical or petrochemical manufacturing.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (required)
• Professional certifications such as CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager) or CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) . (Preferred but not required)
• Experience in implementing procurement strategies to accommodate evolving operational needs.
