Pay Rate: $31.00/hour
Expected Hours/Week: 40
Schedule: M-F (9:30 -6pm)
(40-minute break included daily)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant (MA-C) to join our clinical team. This role includes delivering direct patient care, assisting with clinical operations, and supporting compliance and team initiatives. You will play a key role in providing high-quality, patient-centered care and ensuring efficient clinic workflows.
Key Responsibilities: Patient Care:
Take manual vital signs, perform systems review, and document in electronic medical records (EMR)
Administer immunizations, oral medications, and injections to patients of all age groups as directed
Perform phlebotomy and process lab work/specimens
Assist providers with diagnostic tests and treatment procedures
Educate patients on self-management under provider guidance
Track and coordinate preventive care needs, referrals, and follow-up appointments
Outreach to patients and specialists to coordinate care and close care gaps
Clinic Operations:
Manage patient flow and ensure exam rooms are properly set up
Answer phones, respond to emails, and occasionally assist at the front desk
Perform inventory management and supply ordering
May travel to other clinic sites or off-site events as needed
Compliance:
Accurately perform and document quality assurance (QA) controls
Follow infection control protocols and maintain HIPAA compliance
Meet standards for medical record documentation and participate in quality improvement initiatives
Team Collaboration:
Participate in daily huddles, team meetings, and ongoing training
Collaborate to meet performance targets and improve patient care
Assist in developing care plans and patient goals
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED (required)
Licensed Medical Assistant Certification (MA-C) at time of hire (AAMA preferred)
Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program
Minimum 2 years’ experience (primary or urgent care preferred)
Phlebotomy certified within 90 days of hire (where required)
Bilingual Spanish/English a plus
Additional Skills & Requirements:
CPR (BLS) certification (required)
Ability to set up sterile exam/procedure rooms and knowledge of sterilization procedures
Experience documenting in an electronic medical record system
Flexibility to work variable shifts and travel to different clinic sites if needed
