Job Description

Job Title: Chemical Engineer

Location: On-site | Mosinee, WI

Schedule: Full-time | FLSA Exempt

About the Opportunity

We’re looking for a knowledgeable and proactive Chemical Engineer to lead and optimize chemical processes across multiple manufacturing sites. This role is essential to maintaining quality standards in anodizing, pretreatment, and water treatment operations—especially those involving sulfuric acid-based (sulfate) anodizing . If you’re passionate about process improvement, chemical systems, and solving technical challenges, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage chemical operations related to anodizing, including sulfate-based processes; ensure all parameters meet production and quality standards.
  • Supervise chemistry for wastewater treatment and pretreatment systems across coating lines.
  • Oversee RO and DI water systems, including maintenance coordination and performance tracking.
  • Conduct titrations and keep process variables within defined control limits to support high-quality output.
  • Monitor and support lab operations at each facility, ensuring safety, accuracy, and proper calibration of testing equipment.
  • Track, analyze, and interpret chemical process data to identify trends, troubleshoot issues, and improve system reliability.
  • Investigate surface coating defects and partner with teams to implement effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to evaluate and integrate new chemicals, supplies, and equipment.
  • Provide technical training and process documentation to ensure consistency and compliance with best practices.
  • Support preventive maintenance efforts and update PM documentation for finishing lines.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in projects involving chemical systems and customer quality concerns.
  • Coordinate with safety and environmental teams to ensure proper discharge compliance and risk management.

Desired Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline—or equivalent experience (3–5 years preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with anodizing processes, particularly sulfuric acid (sulfate-based) anodizing, is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and process data analysis.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and project management skills.
  • Experience leading or training others in a chemical or manufacturing setting is a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools and technical documentation.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities with a high level of detail and independence.

Why This Role

This position is ideal for a chemical engineer who thrives in a dynamic manufacturing environment and is ready to take ownership of mission-critical processes. You'll play a pivotal role in product quality, environmental safety, and continuous improvement—while working with a supportive, team-oriented group.
