Operating Room Staff Registered Nurse

Atlanta, GA

Schedule Options:

• Three 12 hour shifts
• Four 10 hour shifts
• Five 8 hour shifts
• Mid shift from 10a – 10p

Scope of Practice:

This Operating Room handles a full range of surgical cases, including gynecology, urology, orthopedics, spine surgery, transplants, general surgery and ENT.

The RN will work closely with surgical techs, anesthesiologists and peri-op staff to ensure smooth operations and safe patient care throughout the surgical continuum.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high quality perioperative nursing care for elective and emergent cases
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety, optimal outcomes and efficient case flow
• Float across all listed surgical specialties and OR locations as needed
• Assist in circulating or scrub roles as trained and scheduled
• Participate in preoperative preparation, intraoperative monitoring, postoperative handoff and documentation
• Follow established standards, policies and procedural guidelines including infection control, surgical checklists and time outs
• Support process improvement, patient experience goals and team initiatives

Qualifications:

• Active Georgia RN license
• Previous OR experience preferred (new grads considered with structured orientation)
• BLS required; ACLS and CNOR preferred
• Ability to float across specialties and adapt to different shift needs
• Strong communication, teamwork and critical thinking skills
