Consumer Retail Analyst - Hedge Fund (New York)

Role Type: Full-Time

We are working with a leading global hedge fund that is building out its fundamental equity research function . This is a rare opportunity to own the Consumer & Retail sector within a multi-billion-dollar platform and play a pivotal role in shaping its equity strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the sole fundamental analyst for Consumer & Retail, ideally with a focus on hardlines (broader coverage welcome).
• Partner with macro PMs to deliver thematic, macro-driven insights that inform portfolio decisions.
• Develop and maintain coverage on key names, providing actionable research and sector outlooks.
• Drive thought leadership on trends impacting Consumer & Retail globally.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of sell-side equity research experience in Consumer & Retail.
• Must have launched or led coverage on specific names (not just supporting).
• Strong ability to think thematically and macro-oriented , rather than purely quantitative.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
