The Coordinator of Student Engagement supports the mission of Midland University by fostering student involvement, leadership, and a sense of belonging on campus. This position coordinates student programming and organizations, assists with large-scale campus events, and works collaboratively with students, staff, and campus partners to enhance engagement opportunities that contribute to retention and community development. This position reports to the Assistant Dean of Student Life.
Student Programming & Events
Plan, implement, and evaluate a variety of campus-wide programs, including social, cultural, educational, and wellness initiatives.
Support and advise student organizations in planning and executing events that align with university policies and values.
Provide support to Residence Life programming and the functions of the Student Life Office.
Assist in coordinating large-scale campus traditions such as Warrior Welcome Days, Homecoming, and Finals Week activities.
Collaborate with Residence Life, Athletics, and other departments to promote holistic engagement opportunities.
Student Organizations
Provide day-to-day support to registered student organizations, including training, event approvals, and leadership development.
Maintain accurate records of organization registration, budgets, and compliance with university policies.
Assist with the development and facilitation of leadership workshops and recognition opportunities for student leaders.
Marketing & Communication
Promote events and engagement opportunities through social media, campus-wide emails, flyers, and other marketing channels.
Create engaging and inclusive promotional materials to increase student participation and visibility of Student Life programs.
Administrative Support
Track attendance, budgets, and assessment data for events and initiatives.
Assist with the recruitment, training, and supervision of student workers and event assistants.
Serve on university committees and support the goals and initiatives of the Student Life Division as assigned.
Bachelor's degree.
One to two years of experience in student activities, programming, or residence life preferred (or equivalent transferable experience) .
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Passion for student development and creating an inclusive, vibrant campus community.
