Job Description

We’re seeking a Cyber M&A Program Manager to support and coordinate cybersecurity activities across merger and acquisition (M&A) initiatives. This role sits at the intersection of cyber strategy, governance, and risk management, helping to assess, plan, and guide the integration of cybersecurity programs during an upcoming merger.

You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders, risk teams, and technical partners to identify areas of exposure, define action plans, and recommend the ideal future state - ensuring cybersecurity posture remains strong through all phases of the M&A process.

Remote Role: Local to the Columbus or Minneapolis Area

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate cybersecurity activities throughout the M&A lifecycle from a strategy and governance perspective.
  • Develop, refine, and maintain Cyber M&A playbooks and related processes.
  • Partner with internal and external teams to identify and assess areas of risk, including:
  • Past or ongoing security incidents or breaches
  • Open regulatory findings
  • Firewall management and configurations
  • Vulnerability management and patching
  • Evaluate the state of existing vulnerabilities and propose remediation plans.
  • Collaborate with high-level stakeholders to communicate findings, share recommendations, and influence decision-making.
  • Provide insight and direction on achieving the ideal integration state based on industry best practices and previous M&A experience.
  • Support early assessment and due diligence activities, helping align cyber strategy with organizational risk and compliance goals.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in Cyber Strategy and Governance, with strong understanding of how decisions impact risk posture and compliance.
  • Hands-on knowledge of the M&A process, ideally within banking or financial services.
  • Understanding of key security domains - SIEM, IAM, firewalls, vulnerability management - and how they connect to integration efforts (no hands-on configuration required).
  • Strong analytical, communication, and coordination skills, with the ability to interface effectively with senior executives and technical teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically, manage competing priorities, and drive clarity across multiple stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing or refining Cyber M&A playbooks or frameworks
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards such as NIST, FFIEC, or ISO 27001
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or PMP
  • Prior experience in a regulated environment (banking, insurance, or financial services)
