Position Summary

The District Manager of Retail Sales will support our Southeastern District in Michigan, covering all our store locations in the greater Detroit area. They will provide leadership in motivating, managing and evaluating the sales team members at each retail location in the defined district. This position will help develop, implement and maintain strategic plans as it relates to sales, deal replacements and products. They will be responsible for monitoring the overall performance of each retail store in their defined district and implementing standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and efficiency across all locations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Leadership and Management:

  • Provide leadership and direction to dispensary managers and staff within the district on sales, deal replacements, and product requests.
  • Set clear goals and objectives for each dispensary within the district and ensure alignment with company objectives.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of each dispensary, providing guidance and support where needed.
  • Conduct regular meetings with dispensary managers to review performance, address concerns, and provide feedback.

Operations Management:

  • Oversee finalized sales in metrc are being completed by GM daily.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of dispensaries within the district, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor inventory levels, sales trends, and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices to ensure consistency and efficiency across dispensaries.
  • Coordinate with other departments such as marketing, logistics, and compliance to streamline operations and improve overall performance.
  • Work with each General Manager (GM) to maintain optimal staffing levels and scheduling.
  • Work with each GM to interview and vet new hire candidates.

Sales and Revenue Generation:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to drive revenue growth and achieve sales targets.
  • Analyze sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for expansion and increased profitability.
  • Work closely with dispensary managers to develop effective sales and promotional campaigns.
  • Monitor pricing strategies and competitive landscape to maintain competitiveness in the market.
  • Create instore deals weekly based on inventory levels, competitors Deals, and aging inventory levels and past sell through.
  • Offer Deal replacements for products that may be sold out or have low quantities.

Customer Service and Experience:

  • Foster a culture of exceptional customer service and satisfaction across all dispensaries.
  • Monitor customer feedback and implement initiatives to improve the overall customer experience.
  • Resolve customer complaints and escalations in a timely and professional manner.
  • Implement training programs to educate staff on effective communication and customer service techniques.
  • Collaborate with each GM to make sure that each budtender is appropriately trained in all systems and products in the store.

Financial Management:

  • Responsible for staffing budgets and working with each location maintain acceptable percent's of labor costs.
  • Implement cost-saving measures and efficiency improvements where possible.
  • Responsible for metrics and knowing where they are at all times.

Training and Development:

  • Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for dispensary managers and staff.
  • Identify skill gaps, areas for improvement and implement training programs to address them.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the district team.
  • Encourage teamwork and collaboration among staff members to achieve common goals.

Community Engagement:

  • Represent the company at community events, industry conferences, and networking opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local businesses and communities.
  • Identify opportunities for community involvement and corporate social responsibility initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • High School Diploma
  • At least two (2) years of experience in a management role.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well with ever changing priorities and/or situations.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Analytical and data-driven decision making ability.
  • Must be able to travel regularly throughout the assigned district.
  • Must be a self-starter who can work well with people at all levels both in and out of the organization.
  • Travel to locations within the assigned district will be mandatory. Travel will be roughly 60 - 70%.
