Job Description

A leading hospital in New York City is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Emergency Medicine Physician to join its high-performing emergency department. The ideal candidate will provide immediate medical care to patients with acute illnesses and injuries, work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to clinical education and research initiatives.

• Schedule : Full time, Monday through Friday, on call
• On Call : Yes
• Setting : Inpatient

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients presenting with urgent and emergent medical conditions
• Perform rapid assessments and initiate appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic interventions
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests including labs, imaging, and EKGs
• Manage trauma, cardiac, neurological, and respiratory emergencies
• Collaborate with nurses, physician assistants, specialists, and other healthcare professionals
• Supervise residents and medical students (in academic settings)
• Document patient encounters accurately and timely in the EMR
• Participate in quality improvement, simulation training, and departmental meetings
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emergency medicine best practices and protocols

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Emergency Medicine residency
• Board certification or eligibility in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM)
• Valid New York State medical license (or eligibility to obtain)
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to work under pressure
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
