We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Field Service Engineer to join our team at Fortress Power, a leader in innovative battery solutions. The ideal candidate will provide on-site technical support, installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance services for our battery products and systems. Key Responsibilities:
· Installation and Commissioning:
o Perform on-site installation, commissioning, and system integration of battery products and solutions (e.g., industrial batteries, energy storage systems, EV batteries).
o Ensure proper system setup, calibration, and testing for optimal performance.
· Technical Support and Maintenance:
o Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair battery systems and related equipment in the field.
o Conduct preventative maintenance, ensuring systems remain operational and compliant with company standards.
o Perform software updates and firmware upgrades when necessary.
· Customer Training and Support:
o Train customers and end-users on the proper operation and maintenance of battery systems.
o Provide technical advice and support to customers, addressing inquiries and concerns promptly.
· Documentation and Reporting:
o Document and report on-site activities, including service logs, inspection findings, and maintenance records.
o Provide detailed reports on system performance, failures, and resolutions.
· Compliance and Safety:
o Adhere to all company and customer safety protocols during field operations.
o Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
· Collaboration:
o Work closely with the engineering team, sales, and product teams to share field insights and improve product performance.
Qualifications and Skills:
· Educational Background:
o Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
o Relevant certifications in battery technology or energy systems are a plus.
· Experience:
o 3+ years of experience as a field service engineer, preferably in the battery, energy storage, or renewable energy sector.
o Hands-on experience with lithium-ion, lead-acid, or other battery chemistries is highly desirable.
· Technical Skills:
o Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems.
o Familiarity with battery management systems (BMS), inverters, and energy monitoring tools.
o Basic knowledge of networking, software tools, and SCADA systems is advantageous.
· Soft Skills:
o Strong customer service and communication skills.
o Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under minimal supervision.
o Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
· Physical Requirements:
o Willingness to travel extensively, often on short notice.
o Ability to lift and handle equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
