CBIZ is partnering with a top Los Angeles law firm in the search for a Litigation Docket Specialist for their Century City office. This is an in office position with the possibility of going hybrid after training. This role will be in charge of calendaring all litigation due dates for the firm's attorneys. The role will work 40 hours per week with occasional overtime.
Responsibilities:
• Read and interpret various documents to extract upcoming events and requirements for docketing.
• Create new events and update existing events.
• Manually calculate dates as needed.
• Maintains the accuracy of data.
• Interacts with court personnel, attorneys and staff.
• Research and keep up-to-date on developments and changes in court procedures for various jurisdictions.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• A minimum of 5 years prior docket experience out of a mid-size to large law firm with a rule based calendaring system, ideally CompuLaw. ( PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU DON'T HAVE THIS EXPERIENCE)
• Experience with federal, state court, and agency rules.
• Knowledge of the legal process and court operations, in federal, state and local court administrative rules.
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret complex documents such as pleadings and other documents, including interpretation of court rules, related to various litigation practice areas.
• Ability to communicate effectively with, and follow instructions from, and to provide information with courtesy and tact in person, over the telephone, and in writing.
• Proficient in the use of MS Office programs.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
The salary for this position is in the mid $70s-low $80s, DOE.
