Job Description

MECHANICAL HVAC ENGINEER/ PM

Primary Role:

The commercial HVAC project manager/account manager will be responsible for the management of commercial construction projects with emphasis on design-build projects.

Major Duties & Responsibilities: Engineering

  • Maintain relationships with select client account
  • Respond to RFPs and prepare proposals
  • Develop conceptual HVAC & plumbing systems designs for design-build projects for the purpose of preparing D/B technical proposals and cost estimates
  • Prepare engineering analyses and calculations
  • Perform code compliance review
  • Select HVAC equipment
  • Prepare HVAC permit/construction documents

Project Management

Serve as primary contact for all project communications

  • Perform associated cost estimates, prepare proposals and negotiate final settlement price and customer acceptance
  • Negotiate, prepare and manage subcontracts
  • Develop internal project schedules to ensure timely delivery of services coordinated with project schedules
  • Coordinate HVAC work with other trades
  • Maintain quality control of all deliverable products, demonstrating technical excellence, objectivity and clarity while maintaining project schedules
  • Manage total project costs and monthly billing for assigned projects
  • Actively pursue additional work through change orders, when applicable
  • Resolve disputes with minimal need for escalation
  • Provide an exceptional client experience

Skills & Qualifications:

  • BS Mechanical Engineering & pursue EIT & PE License
  • 3+ years of HVAC & Plumbing design using AutoCAD or Revit software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with HVAC related engineering programs
  • Superior time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects
  • Confidence and ability to make sound decisions
  • High moral standards and strong work ethic
  • Ability to productively work independent and as part of a team
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel)
