Job Title: Medical Social Worker

Duration: 13 Weeks

Shift: (Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)

Position Overview:

Pride Health is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Medical Social Worker to join our healthcare team in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. This is a 13-week contract position, offering a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM). It’s an excellent opportunity for social workers looking to make an impact in a healthcare setting, providing support to patients and their families in a hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct psychosocial assessments and provide counseling services to patients and families facing medical challenges.
• Assist in discharge planning and connect patients with community resources and support services.
• Advocate for patient rights and ensure they receive appropriate care, services, and benefits.
• Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to develop comprehensive care plans.
• Assist patients in navigating the healthcare system, including insurance and financial assistance resources.
• Document patient interactions and interventions in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
• Provide emotional support to patients and families during times of illness, hospitalization, or crisis.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to ensure holistic care for patients.

Qualifications:

• Education : Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
• Experience : Previous experience in medical social work or hospital settings is preferred.
• Licensure : Current state licensure as a Licensed Medical Social Worker required.
• Skills : Strong communication, assessment, and crisis intervention skills.
• Certifications : BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required or must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Other Requirements : Ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
