Title: Authorization Representative

Location: Santa Monica, CA

Position Overview

• The Authorization Representative will be responsible for processing and tracking authorizations primarily for Orthopedic procedures/surgeries. This role requires strong familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 codes and direct experience in an outpatient or medical office setting.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of experience with authorizations (must be clearly shown on resume)
• Experience with CPT codes, ICD-10 codes, and orthopedic surgery/procedure authorizations
• Minimum 1-year recent experience in an outpatient clinic or medical office setting
• Ability to read, understand, and respond to detailed oral and written instructions

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CS-Link/Epic
• Familiarity with Workers’ Compensation (Work Comp) claims

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for patient relations (in-person and by phone)
• Greeting patients, address concerns, and escalate issues as appropriate
• Perform patient check-in/check-out, collect co-payments, issue receipts, and reconcile payments
• Verify patient demographics and insurance information in CS-Link/Epic
• Schedule appointments and manage complete patient registration
• Submit, process, and track referrals and authorizations for various insurance types
• Handle patient and provider correspondence in a professional manner
• Explain policies, procedures, or services to patients.
• Maintain and sanitize workspaces in accordance with departmental guidelines.
