Job Description

Ascendo Resources is actively seeking an experience Practice Manager for a national law firm clients office in Chicago, IL.

This is a full-time/permanent position that offers competitive salary, excellent benefits and flexible/hybrid/remote work option.

Our client is seeking an experienced Practice Manager to support their Private Credit Department . This position will also provide additional assistance to other practice groups as needed. The Practice Manager will work closely with the firms national and local practice group leaders to manage operations, support strategic planning and drive growth across the firm.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • BA Degree required; MBA or JD preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a large law firm
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and project management
  • Strategic thinking skills with ability to analyze data and present insights.
  • Collaborative, problem-solving, and proactive mindset
  • Collaborative and ability to work well with team
  • Management experience; delegation, mentoring and coaching background

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Practice Operations and Administration

  • Act as key point of contact for practice leadership
  • Oversee daily operations and ensure coordination across department
  • Coordinate attorney workflow and address performance and staffing matters
  • Facilitate strategic planning and implement firmwide initiatives
  • Work with other teams including Business Development & Marketing, Attorney Recruiting, Development, IT, and Finance

Strategic Planning

  • Prepare reports and presentations for firm leadership
  • Manage annual business planning for practice groups
  • Monitor progress of strategic goals and ensure alignment for firm-wide objectives

Financial Management

  • Collaborate with finance department to support attorney and leadership requests for data and forecasting.
  • Report and analyze department financial performance and productivity
