Coding in Color is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting underserved students in computing, with a primary focus on computer science education in Arizona. The organization collaborates with community colleges, community centers and high schools to offer various educational programs throughout the Valley. These programs include workshops, hackathons, summer camps, and computer science courses, each designed to engage students and provide hands-on learning experiences. Coding in Color's aim is to inspire and educate students in the field of computing, fostering their interest and skills in technology.

Role Description

This is a part-time, remote role for a Program Manager located in Phoenix, AZ. The Program Manager will be responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing various educational programs offered by Coding in Color. Daily tasks will include coordinating with schools and community partners, managing program logistics, supervising program staff, and ensuring high-quality implementation of workshops, hackathons, summer camps, and computer science courses. The Program Manager will also track program outcomes, manage budgets, and report progress to stakeholders. The PM will oversee staff payroll and timesheets. The role will require approximately 10-15 hours a week of commitment.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Experience in coordinating and running educational programs or events
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of students and community partners
  • Experience in managing budgets and reporting
  • Relevant experience in a non-profit or educational setting is a plus
  • Quickbooks and payroll experience
  • Ideal candidate has a minimum of 1-3 years of experience in the nonprofit industry
  • Must reside in Arizona
