Job Description

Optomi, in partnership with a leader in the power industry, is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale Telecommunications infrastructure projects with direct coordination across Transmission, Distribution, and Utility networks. This role will focus heavily on managing Integrated Volt-Var Control (IVVC) projects and will require close collaboration with Agile Product Owners, Delivery Teams, and cross-functional partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead planning, execution, and delivery of Telecom projects integrated with utility Transmission & Distribution systems, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Manage cross-functional teams, including engineering, construction, operations, supply chain, legal, regulatory, and third-party contractors.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including resource management, risk mitigation strategies, and stakeholder communication protocols.
  • Collaborate with Agile Product Owners and Delivery Teams to align on goals, manage backlogs, and drive progress in a Kanban environment.
  • Prepare and present project status reports to executive leadership, governance committees, and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards across all phases of project execution.
  • Monitor and control budgets, including funding requests, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Maintain documentation in accordance with internal PM standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of project management experience, with at least 5 years in telecom and/or utility infrastructure (Transmission, Distribution, or similar).
  • Demonstrated experience with IVVC or grid modernization projects is strongly preferred.
  • PMP certification required; additional certifications (e.g., PMI-ACP, SAFe) a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Agile/Kanban practices, particularly in cross-functional or hybrid environments.
  • Proven ability to manage large capital projects ($50M–$250M) with complex stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
