Job Description

Senior Customs Analysts are responsible for overseeing and managing a company’s compliance with customs laws and regulations in USA and maintaining relationships with customs brokers

RESPONSABILITIES OF THE POSITION:

  • Extensive knowledge in customs regulations and trade compliance laws, to provide insightful analysis and strategic planning.
  • Analyze and interpret customs regulations and advise on import and export requirements
  • Ensure compliance with domestic and international trade laws and regulations
  • Prepare, review, and submit customs declarations and other necessary documentation
  • Conduct audits on customs transactions to assure correct duties, taxes, and fees are paid
  • Collaborate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders to optimize customs procedures
  • Assist in the development and implementation of compliance training programs
  • Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies related to customs clearance processes
  • Monitor changes in customs laws and regulations and provide updates to relevant parties
  • Manage record keeping systems to ensure all required import and export documentation is maintained
  • To have a comprehensive understanding of customs procedures, tariff classifications, duty rates, and trade agreements.
  • Stay updated on changes in customs regulations and translate them into operational practices
  • Work closely with customs brokers and agencies to ensure seamless import and export activities
  • Oversee tariff classification and valuation procedures
  • Develop and implement customs compliance strategies

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Proven experience as a Customs Analyst or similar role AT LEAST 4 to 5 years in similar position
  • MS Office (Excel) Advanced
  • Candidates should be familiar with electronic data interchange (EDI) systems, automated export system (AES), and customs management software.
  • Experience in FTA software and all USA FTA rules..
  • This role requires attention to detail, analytical thinking, and excellent negotiation skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment, collaborating with various stakeholders such as supply chain, logistics, and legal teams
  • Proven experience as a Customs Analyst or similar role
  • Proven experience as a Customs Analyst or similar role.
  • Deep knowledge of customs laws, regulations and procedures
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Certification in Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is a plus
