Job Description

A full time Senior Merchandiser is needed for a successful womens apparel brand. This role is to focus on Wholesale and Ecommerce merchandising, and will report to the President of the company, sitting on the Merchandise team. This position is onsite 5 days.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Select the appropriate product/trend that will appeal to the customer and exceed their expectations.
  • Execute seasonal strategies that meet or exceed financial targets. Partner with the cross-functional team in executing to strategies by providing overall context & vision to ensure alignment
  • Identify business opportunities and risks in-season through analyzing sales performance and gathering marketplace information
  • Ensure that buying direction is on target based on comprehensive analysis of the business, e.g., last year results, current trends, attribute selling, etc.
  • Analyze weekly and monthly sales, stock and on-order with the goal of optimizing sales and minimizing markdowns.
  • Suggest category extensions / Ecom exclusives to further growth
  • Actively listen to and engage all members of the cross-functional team to ensure that innovative ideas are surfaced and acted upon, and that the team feels ownership in the business
  • Identify how current trends impact go forward strategies & be able to adjust as needed
  • Become a competitive expert & make recommendation to manager about how to integrate info into business
  • Analyze & drive the business based on sales, history and company & market trends
  • Support pricing strategy to achieve financial goals (with support of MGR)
  • Build relationships through effective collaboration contributing to a high performing team. Provide timely direction through clear communication to all cross-functional team members. Help set priorities
  • Partner with Planner to drive inventory management process, align on MD cadence and life of styles
  • Exhibit a professional communication style (both verbal and written) as shown through strong presentation skills, excellent organizational skills and I high sense of urgency.
  • The ability to prioritize tasks in order to balance the immediate and long term needs of the business.
  • Manage the seasonal carryovers by style, including all necessary categories/divisions
  • Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications and Other Requirements:

  • 4 to 5 years of Fashion Merchandising experience
  • B.S. in Business Administration/Fashion Merchandising
  • Advanced level of Excel mandatory: vlookups, sumifs, pivot tables, charts, and reference formulas
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service and sales skills
  • Must be analytical
  • Able to lead in a fast paced, team-oriented environment
  • Knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, Blue Cherry, Joor
