ROLE SUMMARY

The position of the Senior Credit Portfolio Analyst will play a critical role in supporting the banks lending operations and credit risk management activities. This multifaceted position involves processing income and financial statements spreading financials reviewing/reporting on loan covenants leading quality control for new loans and assisting in selling off loans to other institutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills attention to detail and a thorough understanding of lending processes and credit risk management principles.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process income and financial statements for loan applicants including reviewing and verifying financial documents tax returns and other relevant information.
  • Provide financial statements and other reports to participating banks as indicated in the loan agreements
  • Provide monthly and bi-monthly correspondence to borrower for due and coming due financial statement requirements
  • Monitor the Reporting Mailbox for incoming financial statements. Process all incoming financial statements as appropriate per the deal type.
  • Perform quality control for all new loan set-up of reporting requirements and covenants per the loan agreements
  • Spread financial statements and analyze key financial ratios and metrics to assess borrower creditworthiness and repayment capacity.
  • Review loan covenants and terms to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies maintaining and testing the database of loan covenants.
  • Participate in quality control efforts for new loans conducting thorough reviews of loan files documentation and underwriting decisions to identify errors discrepancies or areas of concern.
  • Collaborate with relationship managers underwriters and other internal stakeholders to address reporting related issues and ensure timely and accurate processing of financial statements and covenant compliance.
  • Provide support to the credit administration team in managing the loan portfolio monitoring credit quality and preparing regulatory reports and disclosures.
  • Stay informed about changes in lending regulations industry best practices and emerging trends in credit risk management.
  • Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned by management to improve lending processes enhance risk management practices and support the overall goals of the bank.
  • Continue to grow credit acumen by participating in formal and informal credit trainings offered by the Credit Administration Department
  • Manage the ACH process to include new ACH requests underwriting and annual renewals of current ACH exposure. Provide quarterly reporting to management team.
  • Assist Risk and Reporting manager in audit document compilation
  • Assist with other loan portfolio monitoring tasks as assigned.

Requirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in finance accounting business administration or a related field required;
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in loan operations credit analysis or related roles in the banking or financial services industry.

Preferred Education/Experience:

  • Working knowledge and use of Abrigo/Sageworks banking software
  • Formal credit training or 5 years equivalent OJT.

  • Strong understanding of lending processes credit risk management principles and regulatory requirements.

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify trends patterns and risks within loan portfolios.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Salary Description

$95000 - $105000 annually
