Job Description

Industry leading distribution company in the Etna, OH area is seeking a Night Warehouse Manager to join their growing team. This is a critical leadership role responsible for the strategic and operational management of all warehouse activities. This individual will lead a large team, optimize warehouse processes, ensure efficient inventory control, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to achieve operational excellence. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in warehouse management, a proven track record of leadership, and a deep understanding of modern warehouse technologies and best practices with a strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Planning:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize warehouse operations, improve efficiency, and reduce costs.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track warehouse performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Contribute to the development of long-term warehouse capacity planning and resource allocation.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance warehouse capabilities.
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., procurement, sales, transportation) to ensure seamless supply chain operations.

Operational Management:

  • Oversee all warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping.
  • Ensure efficient and accurate inventory management, including cycle counting, stock reconciliation, and inventory control.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent and efficient warehouse processes.
  • Manage warehouse space utilization and optimize layout for maximum efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Manage and maintain warehouse equipment and infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with transportation providers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
  • Implement and manage a Warehouse Management System (WMS) to optimize warehouse operations.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a large team of warehouse supervisors and associates.
  • Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Identify training and development needs and implement appropriate programs.
  • Ensure effective communication and teamwork across all warehouse shifts.
  • Resolve employee conflicts and address performance issues in a timely and professional manner.

Financial Management & Cost Control:

  • Develop and manage the warehouse budget.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.
  • Analyze warehouse expenses and identify areas for cost reduction.
  • Monitor and control inventory levels to minimize carrying costs.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers.

Compliance & Safety:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, including OSHA and other applicable standards.
  • Develop and implement safety programs to minimize workplace accidents and injuries.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to warehousing and inventory management.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field, preferred
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large warehouse operations.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and other warehouse technologies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of inventory management principles and best practices.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing or six sigma methodologies is a plus.
  • Certifications such as CSCP, CPIM, or similar are a plus.
