Maimonides is seeking an Advanced Practice provider (APP) Manager to supervise Nurse Practitioners & Physician Assistants staffing, ensure patient safety, promote clinical excellence, and manage departmental operations. You will also provide direct clinical care of a patient caseload and oversight of staff training/ supervision. In addition, you will provide visible leadership, serve as a resource for physicians, nurse practitioners, Physician assistants and nursing staff, and develop and implement clinical programs as well as perform daily rounds with specific units and handle calls on the weekend.

Staffing Management

• Oversee APP staffing, scheduling, and recruitment across departments
• Manage schedule changes, time-off requests, and coverage gaps
• Process payroll and serve as liaison between APPs and department leadership
• Maintain clinical responsibilities as an APP

Education & Onboarding

• Direct APP orientation, mentoring, and integration
• Ensure completion of required training and competencies
• Lead departmental education and maintain policies/procedures
• Monitor compliance with educational requirements

Performance & Quality

• Implement performance improvement initiatives focused on efficiency and patient care
• Monitor APP care quality and evaluate high-risk clinical encounters
• Collaborate on regulatory inspections and risk management
• Oversee incident reporting compliance

Leadership

• Partner with AVP and Director of Advanced Practitioners on curriculum development
• Provide direct supervision and leadership to APP staff
• Handle complaints and ensure documentation compliance
• Lead quality improvement processes

We require:

• Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies (MPAS) Health Sciences or related field.
• Board Certification as a PA through NCCPA (PA-C)
• Minimum of 3-5 experience as practicing Physician Assistant preferred
• Leadership or supervisory experience in an advanced practice role preferred
• Strong communication, supervisory and administrative skills.
• Completion of an accredited Advanced Practice Provider program as Physician Assistant
• Current registration of NYS licensure PA
• Experience in quality improvement, operations and interdisciplinary collaboration a plus.
