Chief Sales Officer

Montvale, NJ, In-Person, Full time

Salary: $350,000 – $500,000

We are a fast-growing, multi-channel business with wholesale, retail, eCommerce, and government contract divisions. Position Overview

The Chief Sales Officer will oversee all sales operations across diverse categories, including wholesale, retail, eCommerce, and government contracts. This is a high-level executive leadership role with full accountability for strategy, execution, and results. The CSO will directly manage 10 sales managers and be responsible for aligning teams, instilling accountability, and driving consistent performance across every channel.

The right candidate is not only a proven sales leader but also a business executive with cross-functional depth , capable of scaling a complex, multi-channel organization beyond its current stage. This is a role for a true operator who can unify sales and marketing, expand into new markets, and hold managers and teams accountable to results.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Executive-level sales leader with experience managing large teams (85+ people, multi-tiered management).
  • Proven track record of driving growth across multiple channels (wholesale, retail, eCommerce, government).
  • Background in companies with $75M+ revenue, complex product portfolios (1,500+ SKUs), and multiple market segments .
  • A confident, trusted leader who can command respect while holding managers accountable.
  • Entrepreneurial and strategic, with demonstrated ability to unify diverse departments under a cohesive structure.
  • Energetic, values-driven, and motivated to deliver measurable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide executive-level leadership and accountability across all sales divisions.
  • Align sales managers and teams around shared goals, ensuring cohesion across channels.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives with marketing and operations to ensure strategic alignment.
  • Drive strategic growth initiatives, including new market entry, regional expansion, and channel development.
  • Build and enforce robust processes and scorecards to drive measurable results.
  • Mentor and develop leaders across 3–4 tiers of management.
  • Establish a culture of ownership, transparency, and performance aligned with EOS and company core values.

Qualifications

Required

  • 5–10+ years of cross-functional executive leadership experience , overseeing multiple departments and levels of management.
  • Leadership experience in at least one of the following: sales or marketing (both preferred).
  • Proven track record contributing to company growth through strategic expansion (e.g., new regions, new channels, M&A).
  • Background in organizations with $75M+ revenue, 1,500+ SKUs, and multi-segment sales structures .
  • Demonstrated success in unifying diverse departments through process design and operational streamlining.
  • Proven ability to develop leaders across 4–6 tiers of management , effectively influencing both direct and indirect reports.

Preferred

  • Direct executive leadership spanning both sales and marketing .
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently deliver 20%+ year-over-year growth .
  • Experience managing complex organizational structures across multi-layered business environments.
  • Familiarity with EOS or similar operating frameworks .

Must-Haves

  • 10+ years senior sales leadership experience with multi-channel oversight .
  • Proven ability to scale teams of 85+ sales reps across wholesale, retail, eCommerce, and government contracts .
    • Demonstrated track record of accountability, execution, and measurable growth .
    • Experience in high-growth companies with significant revenue scale and complex product portfolios .
    • Strong business acumen—able to expand into new markets and unify teams under a shared vision.
