The Opportunity
Gallagher Sharp LLP is looking for a motivated attorney to join the firm's Cleveland office as part of our Transportation practice group and specifically railroad defense litigation. This role offers an opportunity for a qualified candidate to join a team of well-respected and highly skilled trial attorneys.
Required Qualifications
· An active Ohio law license.
· 3+ years of civil litigation experience in state and federal courts.
· Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
· Experience in all aspects of civil litigation, including investigating claims, preparing and responding to written discovery, taking and defending depositions, managing expert witnesses, and motion practice.
· Strong interpersonal skills, including effectively communicating with colleagues, clients, the court, and opposing counsel.
Ideal Qualifications
· An interest in defending against railroad claims. Experience litigating general liability claims (personal injury, property damage, FELA claims, etc.) is also a plus.
· A strong work ethic and an aptitude for learning and applying laws and regulations applicable to railroad or transportation litigation.
· An interest in investigating claims, preparing and responding to written discovery, taking and defending depositions, managing expert witnesses, and all aspects of motion practice.
