Job Title: Patient Care Associate - Psychiatry

Location: New York, NY 10002

Shift: Day / Evening / Night

Duration: 2+ Months

Pay Range: $25 to $28/Hour.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 2 years’ experience working in law enforcement, Nursing or Psychiatric/Behavioral Health; or with Mental Health Population, Counseling, Group Family Dynamics.
• Venipuncture experience
• EKG skills

Education:

• High School or GED

Required Certifications & Licensure:

• Certificate of Medical Assistant training
• BLS (American Heart Assoc.)
• EKG
• CPI or PMCS

Job Description:

• Functioned as a member of a multidisciplinary team providing comprehensive care to patients in an inpatient psychiatric unit, including admissions, orientations, and therapeutic interventions.
• Assisted with direct patient care tasks such as vital signs, EKGs, personal hygiene, specimen collection, and implementing nursing care plans.
• Led and co-led recreational and therapeutic patient activity groups, supporting individualized treatment goals.
• Supported discharge planning by coordinating transportation, family contact, and post-discharge arrangements, ensuring smooth transitions.
• Provided crisis intervention, including physical restraints, CPR, and seclusion/restraint care, while maintaining infection control standards.
