This Opportunity

FPA is currently searching for a full-time Bridge Project Manager at our Headquarters in Newark, NJ .

As a member of FPA’s Bridge Department, you will be part of a dynamic team of industry professionals, operating in a fast-paced, competitive environment. The ideal candidate will be able to integrate quickly with the team and provide detail-oriented and organized support to aid the department’s on-going activities and pursuits. This position reports directly to the Manager of Bridges

Core Responsibilities

  • Bridge Team Leader for DOT and Agency type work
  • Project and industry forecasting
  • Leverage experience, leadership and relationships to assist the group grow in NJDOT/NJTA and other agency work
  • Preparation and management of proposals for DOT and Agency type clients
  • Ability and relationships to develop a network of subconsultants and teaming agreements
  • Manage bridge and infrastructure multi-discipline projects
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to staff and colleagues
  • Collaborate with colleagues in other offices and in other disciplines to establish a cohesive team to deliver a quality project on time and under budget
  • Monitor project costs to ensure that project is delivered within budget, fulfills customer expectations for schedule and quality, and/or aligns with the company strategic objectives
  • Work with the geographic discipline leaders on resource sharing and staffing needs
  • Billings and collections

Required Qualifications

  • 10(+) years related bridge design and project management experience.
  • Business development skills
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Master's degree in Structural Engineering preferred
  • Preparing proposals
  • Design, management and delivery of bridge and infrastructure projects for DOT and Agency clients, especially in NJ
  • Meet the qualifications of NJDOT ‘Team Leader’ including experience with AASHTO/NJDOT Design Manuals, LFRD for Bridge Design, Seismic Analysis and NJDOT Capital Project Delivery Process
  • Ability to be a team member and collaborate with the transportation group for strategy, forecasting, teamwork and being a key contributor to the vision of the group
  • Professional licensure in the State of NJ
  • Prior NJDOT/NJTA experience required
