Position Title: Sales Estimator – Specialties & Furnishings

Position Overview:

The Sales Estimator for Specialties and Furnishings is responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for construction projects by reviewing project drawings, specifications, and client requirements. This role involves calculating the total job costs, including labor, materials, equipment, and specialty items. The individual in this role will be crucial in the sales process, developing competitive and accurate proposals for specialty construction materials, furnishings, and related products. A comprehensive understanding of Divisions 10 (Specialties) and 12 (Furnishings) is essential for identifying appropriate vendors, market trends, and pricing structures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately estimate project costs by reviewing drawings and analyzing material, equipment, and labor requirements.
• Collaborate with the sales team, project managers, and other relevant parties to create tailored solutions for clients.
• Ensure timely submission of proposals, adhering to client deadlines and project specifications.
• Develop and present clear proposals that outline the scope of work, pricing breakdowns, and value propositions to secure new business.
• Communicate effectively with vendors to gather technical specifications, lead times, availability, and other necessary product information.
• Participate in client engagement activities, including meetings and events.
• Follow up with clients after proposal submission to gather feedback and improve future estimates.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (preferred).
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in cost estimating within the construction industry, specifically within the specialties or furnishings sector.
• Proven expertise in preparing detailed cost estimates and proposals.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for effectively presenting complex information to clients and stakeholders.
• Highly organized with a keen attention to detail in cost estimation and proposal preparation.
• Proficiency with construction software, including estimating tools, project management platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Physical Demands:

• The role involves a combination of office work and occasional travel, including site visits, client meetings, and vendor negotiations.
• Considerable time spent on computers and working with digital tools.
• The noise level in the office environment is generally moderate, but may increase during field operations.
