Position: Senior Precast Modeler

Location: St Paul, Minnesota, United States

Job Summery:

As a Sr Precast Modeler you will be responsible for working with a variety of clients to create structural designs and precast erection and production drawings within a team setting. You will coordinate with project partners and assist with directing the structural design.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead the structural engineering team responsible for delivering accurate project erection plans, fabrication drawings, and structural calculations on time and within budget.
• Understand the client’s standards and production preferences.
• Produce safe and economical designs of structural systems and components that comply with contract documents, appropriate building codes, and other project requirements.
• Create analysis models for structural elements and systems
• Respond to questions from production and erection teams.
• Coordinate with drafter/modeler technician on design drawings, data entry and report preparation
• Manage project workload and communicate changes to project scope and any additional services to other team members assigned to project

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with structural emphasis, at ABET accredited University, Master’s degree preferred
• PE Licensed
• Excellent oral, written communication/presentation skills
• 5-8 years’ experience in structural engineering, with a minimum of 3 years of precast concrete specialty design experience
• Advanced analytical and critical thinking skills
• Organized with the ability to work cross functionally
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, work, outlook, etc.)
• Ability to pay close attention to detail, while working with a team to deliver high quality of work
• Proficient with structural engineering software, such as RISA3-D, Concise Beam, and LECWall.
