Job Description

About Us

The live events industry is set to reach $1.2 trillion by 2032, and ticketing innovation will drive its transformation. KYD Labs is building the infrastructure to fuel this evolving economy. We empower artists and venues to extend the lifecycle of their tickets, capture resale revenue, combat fraud, and deepen fan engagement.

Backed by $7m in funding from a16z CSX, Techstars, and Comcast, we are assembling a top-tier engineering team to redefine ticketing for billions of users globally.

At KYD Labs, you won’t just build features—you’ll shape the foundation of a company set to revolutionize live events. This is an opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology, take full ownership of your work, and solve impactful challenges in a fast-moving, high-growth startup.

The Role

We are looking for a Senior Engineer with the ambition and skills to own major components of our platform. As one of the first hires, you will work directly with the CTO to build a scalable, high-performing platform from the ground up.

We’re seeking entrepreneurial engineers who thrive in ambiguity, excel in crafting solutions to complex problems, and are eager to take products from 0 to 1. You’ll have the autonomy to make impactful decisions and the opportunity to shape both the product and the team as we scale.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of web applications using Node.js, React.js, and TypeScript.
  • Make architectural decisions with the CTO, defining and building scalable, serverless systems on AWS (DynamoDB, Lambda).
  • Collaborate with design and product teams to transform Figma designs into seamless, elegant user interfaces.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code while championing best practices and coding standards.
  • Represent engineering in cross-functional conversations, providing thought leadership and direction for product development.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize applications to deliver a world-class user experience.
  • Work with our venues on location and remote across the United States

Who You Are

  • React.js Expert: 6+ years of hands-on experience building scalable web applications using React.js, and Node.js
  • Serverless Savvy: Deep understanding of AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, and related technologies.
  • Builder Mindset: You excel at taking ideas from concept to production and thrive in ambiguous, high-growth environments.
  • Architectural Experience: Proven ability to design systems that are scalable, maintainable, and resilient.
  • Founder-Like Mentality: You take ownership, act decisively, and embrace the challenges of building in a startup.
  • Bonus Points:
  • Experience with live event or reservation platforms.
  • Shipped a product we can explore.
  • A background in music or live events.

Why Join Us

Shape the Future of Live Events: Be part of a core team building foundational infrastructure for a $1.2 trillion industry. Your work will directly impact how millions of fans, artists, and venues engage with live events.

Own and Build at Scale: As a founding engineer, you will own critical parts of our platform, setting the technical direction for systems designed to handle billions of users. This is an opportunity to build architecture that will scale globally, starting from the ground up.

Solve Complex Problems: Work on real-time ticketing, dynamic pricing, fraud prevention, and fan engagement solutions. Tackle deeply technical challenges that require innovative thinking and cutting-edge tools.

Autonomy and Influence: This isn’t just a job; it’s a seat at the table. You’ll have full ownership of your work, the autonomy to make major decisions, and the chance to shape the culture of a growing engineering team.

Live Events and Community: Enjoy free tickets to live events and concerts while contributing to a platform that connects people through shared experiences. If you love live events, this is the perfect place to combine your passion with your work.

The salary range for this role is $180,000 - $220,000 per year.
